Derek Yu is a partner with Harris + Harris LLP specializing in the corporate/commercial and securities law areas.  Derek attended the University of Toronto before earning his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1999.  He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2001 and represents a broad range of clients, including both public and private companies, in various corporate matters including:

• Share and Asset Transactions
• Secured and Private Placement Financings
• Mergers and Acquisitions
• Advising Public Corporations on Corporate Governance, Disclosure and general compliance matters
• Regulatory, Stock Exchange and Securities Commission Applications and Filings

In 2006, Derek successfully completed a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.

Derek’s professional memberships include the Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Bar Association – Business Law Section and the Association of Chinese Canadian Lawyers of Ontario.
