Greg Harris


Gregory H. Harris is one of the founding partners of Harris + Harris LLP. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa’s law program in 1990. While at Ottawa Greg was an editor of the Ottawa Law Review and a member of various other law school organizations. Prior to attending law school in Ottawa, Greg did his undergraduate honours degree at University of Toronto (Victoria College).

Greg’s practice is primarily focused on corporate and securities matters for a diverse group of local and national clients. Greg also has extensive experience in helping both Canadian and international clients develop international tax and business structures. Some of the primary areas of law in which Greg practices include:

  • asset and share transactions
  • corporate reorganizations
  • going public transactions (including reverse takeover transactions and public offerings)
  • stock exchange listings
  • franchise matters
  • tax and business structuring
  • shareholder, partnership and joint venture matters.
Greg has been an active public speaker on a variety of corporate and tax related topics. He’s a co-author of the Carswell loose-leaf service Annotated Business Agreement and has had published numerous articles through Canada and abroad. Greg has been extensively quoted in local and national newspapers through out Canada on a variety of business law issues.

Greg’s memberships include the Law Society of Upper Canada; Canadian Bar Association; International Bar Association, and the Society of Trust & Estate Practioners. He sits on the boards of public corporations as well as charitable foundations.

Greg is also an instructor of the Business Law portion of the Bar Admission Course.
